My Current Project in Inkscape

06 November 2009

I do use pens in my machine to write text on cards and scrapbooking pages. I know it works great for outline fonts but I often want to use a thick font and have the word totally filled. I also want to be able to use a variety of pens and not be limited to thicker markers.

Well, I have been playing with Inkscape and this is one of my test results. I have been using tiled clones on straight lines of varying width. I will write a full post listing the steps and my settings as soon as I have tried out a few more examples.

I used a standard cheap glitter gel pen bought from the stationary section in a discount store. The word is 8cm wide and 3cm high.

Single line stroke engraving fonts are great for using a pen instead of a blade in the cutter. Here is a site with 5 free single stroke fonts to download. These 5 fonts will give the look of a hand drawn or stamped font as they will give a single line.
